6 months, we're almost there!

just had my follow up ultrasound and baby endraca is doing fine and kicking up a storm in my tummy =) he's pretty active at night when mark and i are just being couch potatoes (usually after dinner he does somersaults -- happy from being full!). he likes to wake up at 5 am and do taebo so mommy has no choice but to get up with him hahaha! this little guy is trouble already ;) the doctor printed out a front face view of him (see above), it's not super clear but mark says he has my nose. how he's able to tell, i have no idea! i also included a picture of me at 24 weeks (with saggy boobs)...everybody at work is telling me that i've really popped out all of a sudden (compared to one of my earlier entries at 12 weeks). i guess i have because i'm looking at my calves and thighs lately and they've become ginormous! i gained a lot of weight...in my last visit my doctor said i gained 4 lbs too much than the recommended weight gain per week...tsk tsk tsk, better lay off on those free cookies at work. of course it doesn't help that work's kitchen is stocked with all sorts of junk goodies (potato chips, cookies, pretzels, and lots and lots of soda). i have to really discipline myself to resist all sorts of temptation so i bring my own food, or eat the fruit that they provide. but my doctor said to not freak out about the weight gain, she said it's normal to gain about 40 lbs on your first pregnancy. eeeewwww. i feel like such a fat cow these days. but i tell myself that all this weight gain is necessary for our baby and that i'll lose all the baby fat once i enter the stress that's called motherhood =P of course coupled with rigorous workout and healthy diet, i'll be back to my size 0 in no time (hahahahahaha! wishful thinking!).

anyway, this weekend my family's going on our very first beach outing. we rented two cottages in del mar and we're staying there from friday to monday to celebrate mother's day. it's really appropriate since all the females in the family are mothers now =) it's gonna be a blast and the kids will enjoy it a lot! i'm crossing my fingers that the weather will cooperate as well. will post pics about that when i get a chance. tc and keep in touch y'all =)

because we're bored!

today was my co-worker's bday and it seems like it's tradition that every year we do something to annoy the heck out of her =) this year our boss decided that decorating her cube and throwing confetti at her on different intervals of the day would be a good ...uh make that a GREAT idea! here she is being bombarded by everybody...we all had a good laugh, went to lunch at bj's, and then grudgingly trudged back to work =P at least it made our thursday a wee bit interesting ;)

babies r us 101

i have officially become the personal shopper of my unborn child =) had a very productive weekend registering for gifts! my sister isang and i headed to babies r us and got a scanning gun from their baby registry counter. This was my first time to register for gifts, ever -- man did I get trigger happy with that thing! [sidenote: for those who have not experienced registering for gifts like me, this is how it works: you go to the store, they give you a scanning gun, you run around the store and go crazy! j/k…you scan the items you want as gifts, you return the scanning gun to the registry counter and they give you a print out of the items you tagged plus free invitation inserts and invitations! Oh, you can also add/delete items online, isn't technology wonderful??? The point of registering is so you won't get 5 of the same things when you have your baby shower =)] we decided to round the perimeter of the store and our first stop were the items closest to the registry counter. Unfortunately for isang, the first thing we tried to tag were boppy pillows and it took me a full 5 minutes to decide what color I want to pick! Isang was like: "just pick one! We still have the whole store to go through!" hahahah, I'm not indecisive, am i? heeheeheee. I drove her nuts because I wanted to register for everything and she's like: "nope you don't need that" I'm so glad she came with me otherwise I'd end up with all these crap I don't need. I'm really really picky so after three hours (I think it was more than that) and lots of debates, this is what we came up with:
I also registered at target because they have some stuff that babies r us don't have
Target registry
my sister is planning my baby shower but mark and i were also thinking about doing a small get-together at the house. we'll see what happens. right now i'm busy with doing the baby's room and setting up our own room for him. will update on that soon!

p.s. i didn't really no how clueless i was when it comes to taking care of a baby, but when it took me several attempts to lower a crib gate, i knew i needed help! lol!
